📍 📍 Hi, it’s Doctor Kuns again, I want to talk about how people heal and also maybe a little bit deeper concept in something called the N Diagram about how chiropractic really works. So if we let this line represent Optimal health. This is your body functioning perfectly over time. Your organs working well, your muscles working well, you feeling healthy, you being able to do what you want to do.

What happens is when you’re a little kid and you start having little falls, little trips, you fall off the monkey bars, you play sports, you’re an adult, you have a few accidents, you end up down here in what we call the pain zone. And this just simply means that it’s taken a little time to get down to where your body doesn’t have any more leeway And you’re starting to notice symptoms.

And when we start adjusting a patient, Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. It may take a series of adjustments just to get up to feeling well again, but it takes time to then heal and strengthen, and you’re going to start leveling out at some point. Now, most patients, when we start adjusting them to where they start feeling more stable, generally takes around 90 days.

And the reason it takes around 90 days is just simply how the body works. A sprain strain, a cut, a tear, generally heal in that time frame. And it gets up to a point where we have to consider what do we do for maintenance? And some patients, if they don’t do anything, they’ll just slip back down here again.

It’ll take some time, but they’ll get back down into the point where they’re hurting again. But other patients. They try and figure out what does maintenance really mean for them and how often do they need to address this, both things they can do on their own and things we can help them with to maintain that level of function.

But I want to talk about a bigger picture for just a second and with something called the N Diagram. And what I mean by the N Diagram is we’re just going to follow the pattern of N here. So down here, this is optimal health. This is people functioning at their best. Most capacity, the best they can feel, optimal health, and that’s controlled by body chemistry.

So your body chemistry runs everything, your hormones, your blood flow, oxygenation in your blood. That’s controlled by, by the organ groups and proper function of the organ groups. Is essential for the body chemistry to be balanced. And the organ groups are controlled by the central nervous system or the nerves.

So that is what tells your organs what to do, what to produce, what not to produce, how to get rid of waste. And that is protected by bone. And that’s your brain, your brain is protected by your skull and the vertebra is protecting the spinal cord. And what happens is when we get this thing, we call a subluxation

where that bone is not aligned. Then as the bones not aligned, the central nervous system doesn’t function as well as the central nervous system doesn’t function as well. The organ groups don’t function as well, and as the organ groups don’t function as well, the balance of your body’s chemistry is all thrown off, and as the body chemistry is all thrown off, you get down here to where you’re not feeling well again, and you’re feeling sick, you’re feeling in pain, you have problems.

So again, then what we need to do is find, we need to do the adjustment, okay, and as we find that bone that’s not functioning right. We get it to go off that nerve. As we take the pressure off the nerve, the central nervous system function increases. As the central nervous system function increases, the organ group will start to function better and start to also create better body chemistry, and then we get back up here to wellness.

And you want to maintain that as long as you possibly can. So what this is telling us is it’s not about pain. It’s about body chemistry, body function. It’s about wellness. It’s not about just pain. It’s about function and feeling well, being well, and doing what you can do to maintain that as long as you possibly can.

Now, what that means is that If you have family or friends or if you have a workplace and you have people in there that are not feeling and functioning at their best, you might also want to share this information with them and give them some information so they can feel well and function well as well.
